SnipOut Privacy Policy
In short: Your photos never leave your phone. There is no account, no server, and no advertising or tracking SDK. The only data that ever leaves the device is the purchase receipt Apple handles, and optional crash reports you can turn off.
1. Who we are
SnipOut is published by AcutaLabs. This policy explains what the App does and does not do with your data. It covers the iOS app only.
2. Photos and images — processed only on your device
When you open an image in SnipOut, background removal, mask refinement and export all run locally using an on-device machine-learning model. Your images are never uploaded to us, never sent to a third-party API, and never stored on any server.
Images you save stay in your photo library or files, under your control. Deleting the App removes its working data from your device.
3. Photo library access
The App asks for permission to read photos you choose and to save results back to your library. It only accesses the images you select. You can change or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
4. What we do collect
Purchases. When you buy an unlock or subscription, Apple processes the payment. We receive a purchase receipt and an anonymous identifier through our subscription-management provider so the App can tell whether your unlock is active. We never receive your name, email address or payment details from Apple.
Diagnostics. If you have enabled sharing of analytics and crash data with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us aggregated, anonymised crash reports. These contain no images and no personal content. You can turn this off in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
That is the complete list. There is no account system, no advertising SDK, no tracking pixel and no third-party analytics.
5. Legal basis and retention
Where GDPR applies, we process the limited purchase data described above on the basis of performing our contract with you, and optional diagnostics on the basis of your consent given through iOS. Purchase records are retained only as long as needed to validate entitlements and to meet tax and accounting obligations.
6. Your rights
Because we hold no account and no personal profile, there is generally nothing for us to export or erase. If you believe we hold data about you, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on your location you may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and complaint to a supervisory authority.
7. Children
SnipOut is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal data from them.
